The Neighborhood

The apartment sits along the Vatican walls, in a neighborhood where people live and shop: supermarkets, cafés, pharmacies and all kinds of shops are just a few minutes away.

Groceries

The nearest supermarket is a six-minute walk away, open on Sundays too, with everything else nearby: food shops, a pharmacy, cafés and restaurants.

You get there by going down a one-minute staircase, without a handrail — which is also why the neighborhood below is so close. If you prefer to avoid it, you can stay on the flat along Viale Vaticano; it takes about fifteen minutes.

Eating out

Within five minutes on foot you’ll find Roman trattorias, pizza by the slice, delis and pastry cafés open from early morning to late evening, frequented by locals.

When you arrive, I’ll be happy to suggest a few places, depending on what you’re looking for: a quiet dinner, a quick pizza, a family-friendly spot.

Around you

The entrance to the Vatican Museums is at the end of the street, and St Peter’s Basilica is an easy walk along the walls. The historic center is on the other side of the Tiber, and still within walking distance or a few minutes by bus.

In the evenings, the area around here is residential — a quiet place to return to after a day exploring Rome on foot.
